Construction

We were lucky enough to have access to some baseboards from another EX Ian Harper and Gary Thomas layout "Ambleforth"  which had been decommissioned some years earlier.  We would recycle the six front and four side boards from that layout and newly build a further six to provide the rear fiddle yard boards.  Each of the front boards are 4' x 2'6" and the newly built rear boards 4' x  3', providing us with a maximum layout area of 24' x 12'. To provide flexibility in size for exhibition managers and to allow the layout to be run in the den at home it can be assembled in multiple configurations.
